How to delete your account

Option 1: In the app

Open Fixby
Go to Settings (gear icon, top right of home screen)
Tap Account
Tap Delete Account
Confirm the deletion

Option 2: By email

If you cannot access the app, send an email to support@fixby.app from the email address associated with your Fixby account. Include "Delete my account" in the subject line. We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

Your account — user ID, email, authentication credentials
All appliance data — your appliance list and uploaded manual PDFs. The processed manual bundle and its intermediate processing files are deleted too, unless another user still has the same manual registered (they are then deleted automatically, within about an hour, once nobody does)
Conversations you sent us — any conversation you chose to send via "Send this conversation to Fixby" is deleted with your account (otherwise it is deleted automatically after 180 days)
Your device record — the device identifier and device details we linked to your account
On-device data — all local data including chat history, voice transcriptions, and cached manuals are removed from your device

What is retained

Purchase receipts — retained as required by tax and financial regulations, detached from your account. These contain only transaction and product identifiers, not personal conversation data.
Usage and diagnostic events — the content-free events described in our privacy policy are disconnected from your account, appliances and device, so they can no longer be traced back to you. Raw events are deleted after 13 months, leaving only daily totals that are not linked to any account, appliance or device.
Crash reports — reports held by our diagnostics provider (Sentry) are not linked to your account or identity and expire automatically.
Shared manual bundles — if another user has the same appliance registered, the processed manual bundle (not your personal data) remains available to them.
The on-device AI model — the model itself isn't personal data (it's a generic asset, not tied to your account or appliances), so it isn't deleted and doesn't need re-downloading if you create a new account.

Timeline

In-app deletion: Both on-device and server-side data are deleted immediately. Our database backups age out over about 7 days, so deleted data can remain in a backup for up to about 7 days. On iPhone, an iCloud or computer backup you made earlier may still contain your local chat and maintenance history until you delete that backup.
Email deletion: Processed within 30 days of identity verification.

Important notes

Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. You cannot recover your data after deletion.
If you have active in-app purchases, deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund. Contact Apple or Google for refund requests.
You are welcome to create a new account after deletion, but your previous purchases and appliance data will not be restored.
